Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” spotlights several Tallahassee restaurants.
Tallahassee has been having quite a moment on national television thanks to Guy Fieri, the colorful celebrity chef and TV host of the Food Network show, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.“
His Valentine’s Day segment is at Leon’s at Lake Ella where chef Leon C. Brunson one of our most talented Tallahassee chefs, is at the helm.

My husband and I had lunch at Leon’s recently and it was delicious. I am addicted to his she-crab soup. It never disappoints. My husband loved a special of Japanese curry with shrimp (our choice of protein), squash, jasmine rice and roasted Brussels sprout. It was a tantalizing medley of flavors and textures. Excellent.

Leon’s is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays to Sundays.
On Fieri’s upcoming TV episode, dubbed the “World Tour of Flavor” tour, the show’s notes describe Leon’s as “infusing Southern cooking with international flavors, puttin’ out pork belly bao buns and a funky fresh take on shrimp and grits.”

The episode on Leon’s will be aired at 9 p.m. Feb. 14. If you’re out celebrating Valentine’s Day, you can attend a free watch party from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee, at 200 S Duval St. but contact Leon at [email protected] to be sure there are still tickets available.

You’ve likely been hearing of other Fieri stops in Tallahassee. He stopped at Market Street Liquors on North Monroe Street in October and then visited a few restaurants.
Fieri has featured Backwoods Crossing, Coosh’s Bayou Rouge and Tally Mac Shack His next Tallahassee restaurant to be featured will be Halisi Africa in the Railroad Square Art District according to the Tallahassee Democrat.
