You can dote on moms, and grandmoms, in so many ways this year. Whether your mom wants a meal at home or a lavish brunch, these local spots should help you pamper the special lady in your life.
For families who can hug their moms and grandmoms, and those moms and grandmoms who can experience that love first-hand, it’s truly a blessing. Especially now.
My daughter is in South Florida and my son is in New York City so I won’t get to spend Mother’s Day with them this year, but I’m happy to say I just got back from NYC, where I met our six-week-old granddaughter for the first time.
Friends have long told me that being a grandparent was magical, bringing back the joy of holding your own child, touching tiny fingers and toes. This relationship also its own special bond.
And how it made my heart melt to see my son, my baby, cooing and cradling his daughter.
I’m so very impressed by my daughter-in-law and son as they embrace their role of parenting. So to all mothers and grandmothers — and to new moms like my daughter-in-law Julia and our friends Hannah, Lexie and Nicole — wishing you a very Happy Mother’s Day! Welcome to the best group of all: being a mom.
Many dining experiences are now possible so here are some other places (in addition to our story about international menus) to celebrate mom and grandmom. Keep in mind that many of these spots will need reservations. There are a lot of choices for outdoor dining but you’ll want to confirm availability. Hours are listed here for Sunday only.
